The antelope is the traditional animal associated with the fourth or heart chakra. Chakra (or cakra) is a Sanskrit term for the major energy centers of the body, which begin and are numbered from the base of the spine. These energy centers are likened to wheels or whorls of energy, and the color associated with the heart chakra is green. Here, the antelope itself has been penetrated, and the result is not a loss of life's blood, but a flowing forth of the water of life.
