The Writing Life*

I don't want to write. I don't want to write. I don't. I won't.
You can't make me. I'll put it away.
I'm not a writer. I'm not. I'm really not. I have nothing to say.
So there.

Geez. I'm so miserable. My life is so empty. Nothing has meaning.
Nothing I do has any meaning.
I have to write. I have to. That's who I am. Even if it's dreadful.
Even if no one ever reads it. So there.

Well, this is kind of fun. I could do this all day long.
I could really fall into this. Head first. Heart along with it.
Do you think it's okay for me to do something this fun all day long?
Well, probably not. I'd better not. I'm not a writer. I'm not.
I'm really not. I have nothing to say.

Besides, everything I write is just terrible anyway!
So there.
